Listening to an old tune by – Harry Chapin – got me thinking of the times I missed @ home and yet I am proud to say that I think I am successful in teaching some core values to my children.
A child grows up to be a parent and relives the life he/she has seen in their childhood. A childhood is often memories of immediate happenings that revolve around family. Core values are what are passed down from one generation to the other. The building blocks of any society are the core values – what we teach in our home – Diversity, Honesty, Integrity, Respect and Kindness to all. Friends and Family... as we get closer to Election day...
Please support me with your donation ( $25 or more)... http://sunil4schools.weebly.com/contact-donate.html Thank you very much, Sunil Sivaraman Dear Friends ... wanted to talk to you all about my views of Diversity.
To me diversity is more than class, creed, sex, race – it really is diversity of thought. It’s the unique experiences that come with them that we learn to RESPECT My experience as the FORD Motor Company’s IT Diversity Co –Chair was based on three things: Educate – each other on our differences Embrace – welcome the perspective Empower – Let the minds go free and on a journey of innovation Our TSD schools have more than 50% of the population that brings diversity into our classroom. Hope to bring that unique perspective into the Troy School board also. Vote 4 SUNIL SIVARAMAN - Troy School Board - Nov 8,2016 Another great non-partisan event took place @ Joe Kools in TROY for Sunil Sivaraman, hopefully Your Voice @ Troy Schools. Jeanne M. Stine (Former Mayor of Troy) was one of the first arrivals.
The evening started off in true bi-partisan spirit with Congressman Dave Trott being the first guest to arrive along with Doug Tietz, Candidate for Oakland County Commissioner. They were immediately followed in by Dr. Anil Kumar’s crew - Brian Stone (photographer) and his team members. Candidate for State Representative, Cindy Peltonen also attended. Most of my key endorsers joined us tonight. They were: Chief James Berlin – Roseville PD, Gary Wood – Former Troy School Principal, Ida Edmunds – Troy School Board Member, and Jim Werpetinski - Troy Coalition & Friends of Troy Seniors. During the evening we were joined by State Senator Marty Knollenberg, State Representative Martin Howrylak, Oakland County Commissioner – Wade Fleming, Troy School Board member – Paula Fleming, Planning Commission members: Don Edmunds and Padma Kuppa. Got to meet one of the legends of Michigan TV broadcasting by absolute coincidence. Charlie Langton, and his wife Lisa Langton Oakland County Circuit Court Judge were having dinner at Joe Kools. In addition to all of these outstanding public servants, I was joined by many members of family and friends. Thank you all for your show of support. My sincere thanks to Mr Bostick, Ms. Stine, Mr. Art Molinar, and my family Mini (wife), Shruthi & Sanju (daughters), Raji (mom) and Keerthy (niece-n-law). Thank you all for coming and for your support VOTE 4 SUNIL SIVARAMAN – Troy School Boards, Nov 8th, 2016 What a great evening with our wonderful friends from the Chinese American Association who had invited all the Troy School Board candidates for a Town hall style meeting. Thank you for the opportunity.
SAFETY has many implications especially given that it is our children. One of the main things I wanted is to mention last night in response to a question on safety is – To educate the teachers and administrators of “Active Shooter Training”, this is similar to the fire drills we have in schools. Yet different in terms that this is done by actual law enforcement professionals. This is actively pursued in many counties in and around Oakland County. I would certainly see a lot of value in such a training exercise being conducted in our schools for training our students, teachers and administration. As mentioned tonight my actual interaction with Troy Schools started after Sandy Hook elementary shooting in Connecticut. I was the first to volunteer to open doors for nearly 2 weeks @ Bemis after this tragic incident. My suggestion is to have an interactive APP (computer program) that can track our children while on and off campus. Technology can and has multiple ways that it would lend to these solutions. Vote for SUNIL SIVARAMAN – Troy Schools, Nov 8, 2016 What a great day yesterday (10/22) to share the stage with two other legends in the Michigan Community - Mr. Robert A. Ficano and Ms. Victoria Valentine especially for a " Freshling" like me.
